Found this in a book that I am reading. I thought that it was a very good thing to live by and to raise Kiersten to think.

TODAY

If I feel depressed I will sing.
If I feel sad I will laugh.
If I feel ill I will double my labor.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.
If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent I will remember past success.
If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.

Today I will be master of my emotions.

If I become overconfident I will recall my failures.
If I overindulge I will think of past hungers.
If I feel complacency I will remember my competition.
If I enjoy moments of greatness I will remember moments of shame.
If I feel all-powerful I will try to stop the wind.
If I attain great wealth I will remember one unfed mouth.
If I become overly proud I will remember a moment of weakness.
If I feel my skill is unmatched I will look at the stars.

Today I will be master of my emotions.

A little bit of everything & the Cubs Game!

We have been gone for a month, or atleast our yard and pool looks like it. We came home to an overgrown yard, and when I say overgrown, I mean knw high grass and weeds. Also our pool was as black as night. We had to put about four packets of schock treatment to just begin to get it clear. Everything is so overgrown in just a weeks time that we look like we have not done anything for a month.

Well we all got home safe last night, or should I say this morning. Just before we dropped our car off at Hertz, we had to fill it up with gas. Stoping at the gas station just a couple minutes away from Hertz, Brian pulled up tp the wrong side of the gas tank. He turns off the car and gets out before he realizes this. Then he gets back in and the car will not start. After numerous tries we realize the the theft lock was on the car. The only thing that would make it start again was the original key, which of course we did not have. So we called Hertz and they came and got us and took us directly to the airport. The good thing was that we did not have to pay for the gas to fill the car back up and we got taken right to the airport and did not have to deal with any buses. We were so worried that we would miss our plane, but when we got there it was delayed 1 1/2 hours. So we did not get into Tampa until Midnight. Got our car and we were on our way out of the parking garage when we got hit by a bomb. Or atleast it felt like it when we heard the price of how much it was to park our car at the airport. OVER $100 for 10 days. That is ridiculous. Brian and I both talked about opening a parking garage after we heard that. They are really raking in the cash!

WEll our trip went really good. My step-sister had her baby. Her name is Syndey. Make sure yu check out the picture. She is a cutie. My Grandma got really sick while we were there, but hopefully she is going to turn around. We had a good time with all of my family. It was realy short, but a good visit. Had some good cooking from my uncle Keith. He gave me some real good recipes that Brian is making me try out! The visit with Fran was really nice, Kiersten got to go to her first Cubs game. Unfortunatly, they lost, but she had some fun - I think Grandma and the rest of thr fam did too!

We went to the doctors today for a six month check up. She is 26 inches long and weighs 14.8 lbs. She is in the 50th percentile for everything and the doctor says that she looks perfect and is developing great. She feels that she might not crawl, but will definetly be walking by 8 1/2 to 9 months!! Better get my running shoes on. She thinks that her top teeth should be coming in real soon and told us to start her on the next level of foods. Our little baby is getting so big. It just happens so fast!

Here are some pictures of Kiersten at the Cubs game!!!

Happy 1/2 year old Birthday Kiersten

Filed under: Uncategorized — Wrote by mom on Monday, September 1st, 2003 @ 2:43 pm

WEll today was a big day, not as big as six months ago, but Kiersten is now officially 1/2 of a year old. It is amazing how quickly these months have gone. It is almost hard to believe that she is that old, that is until you look at her. She has gotten so big, I estimate about 16 lbs, and who knows how tall. All I know is Brian and I went looking for a carseat yesterday because she out grew the one that we originally had for her. Plus we bought a toddler stroller, you know one of those umbrella ones that fold up so that we can use it at the cubs game when we go home. I can’t believe my little baby that was born only 6 lbs is now so big!

We bought her a little walker for her six month birthday. She loves it, although she does not quite understsnd what she is suppose to do in it. We know in just a couple weeks she will be terror on wheels around the house though, so we are happy that she does not know what to do yet.

No news about my step-sister Nicki delivering their baby girl. Today was her due date. We will see if she goes tonight or not, but nothing so far. It would have been fun if she would have gone, Kiersten and her cousin would have been exactly six months apart, oh well, now they will be six months in a couple days. It would have also been funny if she would have went into labor on Labor day. I never made the connection until someone at church mentioned it when I put Nicki and the baby into our Bible Study prayer time. That would have been funny if the baby came. It puts true meaning to Labor day!
